Kamila Zybura-Pluta

Investment Execution Director

Kamila Zybura-Pluta leads a team of professionals responsible for preparing and overseeing Fortum's investments in Poland. She is driving Fortum through its ambitious plan to decarbonize its Polish plants by 2027, overseeing the modernization of existing CHP plants in Częstochowa and Zabrze. She holds a special connection to the latter — thanks to her expertise and experience, she previously led its construction in 2018. This facility is one of the most advanced multi-fuel CHP plants in Europe, utilizing refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and coal, with the capability to run on biomass. It generates electricity for the national grid and heat for nearly 70,000 households in Zabrze and Bytom. The plant replaced outdated coal-fired units in both cities, contributing to a 33% reduction in CO₂ emissions. Kamila also led the preparation phase for a carbon capture installation project in Oslo — a complex initiative that required effective coordination of an international team, despite remote work constraints during the pandemic. She has been with Fortum since 2012. She holds degrees in economics and engineering from Wrocław and an MBA from Paris.
