The PTWP Group has revived the tradition of awarding distinctions associated with the WNP editorial office and its predecessor the Nowy Przemysł monthly. The winners are selected by the Distinction Board of Energy Days composed of representatives of the editorial team of WNP and the PTWP Group. In their assessment, the Board concentrated on specific effects of the winners’ undertakings and their significance for energy security, development of domestic competencies, and economic competitiveness.
NEW IMPULSE
In the "New Impulse for Investments and Solutions" category, companies and projects accelerating changes in the Polish energy sector were recognized. The awardees included:
Baltic Power: for generating the first electricity from the Polish section of the Baltic Sea and reaching a breakthrough milestone in the development of offshore wind energy in Poland.
GAZ-SYSTEM: for implementing the FSRU project in the Gulf of Gdańsk and developing infrastructure that enhances Poland's energy security and strengthens its position in the regional gas market.
R.Power: for opening large-scale photovoltaics to active participation in the balancing market and building Poland's position in European renewable energy and energy storage.
PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna: for turning large-scale energy storage into a tangible investment reality in Poland and creating the infrastructure needed for the flexible and secure operation of the power system.
TAURON Polska Energia: for the consistent implementation of the Group's green transformation. Its next major milestone is the construction of the Miejska Górka wind farm— the largest onshore wind investment in TAURON Group's history.
PERSON WITH ENERGY
Personal contributions to the transformation were recognized with awards in the "Person with Energy" category. The honorary title was bestowed upon individuals whose expertise and decision-making translated into tangible changes across the sector. The Board selected five awardees:
Joanna Maćkowiak-Pandera, President of the Energy Forum, received the award for establishing one of the most prominent independent think tanks for debate on Polish energy, analysing the market, and outlining future directions for its development.
Renata Mroczek, President of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE), was recognized for setting a new direction for the regulation of the Polish energy market and building the role of a regulator open to dialogue, new technologies, and evolving energy models.
Grzegorz Onichimowski, President of Polish Power Grid (PSE), was awarded for preparing the power system for transformation – including the growing share of renewable energy sources – while strengthening the security and stability of its operation.
Adam Sikorski, President of UNIMOT, received the award for building strong private competition in the Polish fuel and energy market and opening strategic segments of the sector to private capital.
Wojciech Wrochna, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Energy and Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure, was commended for leading strategic projects in the Polish energy sector – in particular the nuclear energy program – and effectively representing Polish energy interests in the European forum.
