At Energy Days, the PTWP Group is reviving the tradition of awarding the New Impulse and Energy Personality of the Year distinctions.
For years, both these titles have been associated with editorial staff of WNP and the economic monthly “New Industry” published by the PTWP Group. The awards were awarded to pioneering people, businesses, institutions, and enterprises that shifted the dynamics of Poland’s energy sector and charted the course of change.
New Impulse distinguished projects, investments and other enterprises that added new quality to the Polish energy sector, pushed it forward, and drove the course of change. Energy Personality of the Year was an honorary distinction awarded to individuals who have made a profound impact on Poland’s energy transition.
Today, with Poland's energy sector facing the transition and unprecedented changes, both these distinctions are making a comeback. Nuclear, offshore, the grid, energy storage, new sources of energy, digitalisation, and the increasing significance of energy security are moving from the planning stage to execution. At the same time, economic competitiveness, national competencies, and local content in major investments are moving to the top of the agenda.
Energy Days 2026 is the natural setting for maintaining this tradition.
NEW IMPULSE 2026
A distinction for projects, investments, technologies, companies, and institutions which accelerate the change happening in the Polish energy sector.
We seek to honour enterprises that have achieved a tangible result – whether it is a commissioned facility, a key project milestone, an implemented technology, a breakthrough moment, or a solution that opens new possibilities for the sector.
The most important criteria are:
- significance for the Polish energy sector and economy,
- a real effect, not a promise,
- impact on the security and resilience of the system,
- development of technologies, infrastructure, and new models of operation,
- positive impact on economic competitiveness and development of national competencies.
2026 ENERGY PERSONALITY
An honorary distinction for individuals whose knowledge, decisions, and leadership have driven tangible change in Poland’s energy sector.
The main criteria for the distinction are proven achievements: delivering a major investment, carrying out a key process, implementing an innovative solution, taking a pivotal decision, or launching an initiative whose impact stretches beyond a single organization.
The form in which the distinctions are awarded
The distinctions are at the discretion of the editorial staff. The nominations are neither by open ballot nor subject to a public vote.
The winners are selected by the Board Charter of Energy Dayscomposed of representatives of the editorial team of WNP and the PTWP Group.
In 2026, we plan to present:
- 6 New Impulse distinctions,
- 5 Energy Personality of the Year distinctions
In exceptional cases, the Board reserves the right to adjust the number of distinctions awarded.
The awards ceremony will take place during Energy Days 2026 on 30 September at 7:00 p.m. at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.
